"The Bunker" was founded by the Vietnam and All Veterans of Central Florida (VVCF) in the 1980's as a gathering place for Veterans, military families, and the local Vietnamese community. VVCF created a museum of their Vietnam experiences and dedicated the Cpl Larry E Smedley National Vietnam War Museum on May 29, 1993, which has educated visitors and supported the local community for over 30 years. In 2024, Orlando Bunker Inc. was established as a non-profit to support the Smedley Museum and grounds at The Bunker.
Our volunteers:
Provide guided tours, curate artifacts, and maintain the Smedley Museum and grounds
Enthusiastically welcome all Veterans and their family members!
Provide packages, aid, and support for active duty military
Host events by the VVCF, Bunker Riders, and local community groups
Raise funds to Fight Cancer, support Veterans at Lk Nona VA Hospital, support those with Disabilities, and feed local communities.
